We were enriched with Cynthia’s wit, wisdom and sharing of her horticulture talents. Generous with her time to the community, you will see her mark in the Plum Beach Gardens planted around town.

As Chair of the club’s Conservation committee, her reports reflected respect for our planet ecologically and ways to be environmentally aware of our surroundings. She championed native plants and pollinators for the nectar and shelter they provided for birds.

Her encyclopedic knowledge could identify a wilted plant leaf for their genus and species. A constant at the Preservation Society’s Newport Flower Show, even the trickiest Latin names were delivered effortlessly when she checked in specimen plants.

But it was in her yard where she and Peter showed their gift to coax dirt and seeds into bountiful harvests of summer blooms and tasty gifts of fresh vegetables. Neighbors and friends happily engaged in lingering chats with these welcomed visits. 



Within our own gardens, greening, flowering and now resting, she will forever be in our hearts.
